Italy’s most
famous car race<\/h2>\n

After the Italian Grand Prix abandoned Brescia for Monza in 1927, Counts Aymo Maggi and Franco Mazzotti teamed up with Renzo Castagneto and Giovanni Canestrini to create the legendary “Mille Miglia”. This figure-of-eight endurance race spans 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back. The event was reborn in 1977 as a race for classic and vintage cars. Participation is limited to vehicles produced by 1957 which had attended (or were registered to) the original race.<\/p>\n
