British craftsmanship<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Rover P4, affectionately known as “Auntie Rover,” was given this nickname by legendary racing driver Denis Jenkinson after a P4 had made a tortuous journey seem “just as if going to Aunty’s for tea”. Despite its nickname, the P4 was not to be underestimated. In 1955, Paolo Lando Barsotti drove a P4 in the Mille Miglia; the same year, Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson took first place, adding a touch of glamour to this solid and reliable saloon car.<\/p>\n

Although the car is considered quintessentially British, its design, which was strongly influenced by Raymond Loewy’s designs for Studebaker, was not. During trials, Spencer Wilks, Rover’s Managing Director, even integrated a 1948 Studebaker body onto a prototype P4 chassis. The car’s design was later updated by David Bache, whose styling of the front grill and headlights became the car’s signature feature.<\/p>\n

With its authentic Black paintwork, original leather interior and period details the car is in its original state with no modifications. A past participant of the Mille Miglia the Rover 75 certified eligible to participate in the 2024 Milli Miglia event.<\/span><\/p>\n
