Morini’s trump card

At the 1953 Milan Motorshow, Moto Morini introduced the first of three 175cc four-stroke motorcycles named after popular Italian card games. The last model in the highly successful series of road sports bikes was the Tresette (Three Sevens), launched in 1958 and remaining in the collection until 1963.

The high-performance Tresette “Sprint” with its short windshield, two-piece handlebar, anatomical fuel tank and double silencer was the pinnacle of the range. Fitted with a high-compression piston, oversized Dell’Orto carburettor, and revised exhaust increased the bike’s power to 13 hp at 6,500 rpm, delivering a top speed of 73 mph. This extra power was well supported by an open cradle tube frame, telescopic fork, swing arm, hydraulic shock absorbers and drum brakes. The perfect ride for the Moto Giro d’Italia, this fully restored sports motorcycle would make a superb acquisition for any enthusiast.
